I’ve always been found of taking pictures. I got my first camera in 4th grade. I didn’t take many pictures back then. As I grew older I started taking pictures when I went on holiday, or when somebody had birthday. I (and mum/dad) got several albums with pictures from holidays I’ve been on. I got my second camera in 94, at my 16th birthday. I loved that camera and I still got it. It is a Canon 11 – a world cup USA 94 camera (soccer).

After several years I found out that the camera wasn’t good enough. I wanted a camera where I could zoom and take APS pictures. So I bought myself yet another camera. It was a Kodak Advantix C650. I’ve taken lots of pictures in college with that camera. It’s a fairly ok camera that suited my needs.

Last desember (2002) I bought myself a digital camera – Samsung Digimax 410. It was because of a bonus I got from work (10.000,- NOK) I could afford it. I’ve taken over thousands of pictures with that camera. Of course only less than 10 % of them are actually good.

I love the idea behind the digital camera. It can get very expensive to experiment with a regular film. It costs a lot of money to develop pictures. And it’s no fun if you do, and only a few of then gets good. That was the reason for me buying a digital camera.

In august 2004 I bought myself a new digital camera. My Samsung camera was a bit slow and way too big. I bought myself a Canon Ixus 5. It's better, faster and smaller. I love it. It's well used.

What I really want is a digital reflex camera. Those are very expensive. I guess the cheapest starts around 10.000 NOK. If I'm going to buy myself such a camera, I'm not going for the cheapest. I need to start saving up money for such a camera. But... there are so much else I want as well... *sigh*

I’m not a great photographer, I’m a novice. I think I learn more and more each time I take a picture. I have this dream that I’m not sure ever will come through. One time I want to publish a book with my own pictures. That would be so great. Another dream, not so strong, is to open a gallery with my own pictures. It’s not necessary show them in my own gallery, it can be someone else’s. But just the idea to let everybody see my pictures… it’s a nice thought.
